Hampton CVB, partners awarded marketing leverage grant
Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau has been awarded $25,000 in marketing funds from the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC). The VTC Marketing Leverage Program is designed to stimulate new tourism marketing programs through the creation of tourism partnerships. The objective of the program is to leverage limited marketing dollars, resulting in increased visitor spending.

Twenty-six American Automobile Association (AAA) and Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) professionals visited November 30-December 5 during “Hi-Lite Hampton Roads,” exploring Portsmouth, Norfolk, Hampton and Newport News. Marketers from the four cities’ convention and visitor bureaus (CVB) annually collaborate to entertain and educate these vital partners.

Annual FantaSci Event Returns to the Region
On September 29-30, 2007 the Hampton Roads Convention Center will welcome over 3,000 fantasy, medieval and science-fiction fans to the Sixth Annual FantaSci Convention. The event will feature everything from cosplay (a combination of the words costume and play) and live action role playing (LARP) to workshops, demonstrations and celebrity guests.
