Media Reminder!! St. George Brewing Company Hosts Beer Tasting Red Cross Fundraiser This Saturday!
This Saturday, May 3, award-winning St. George Brewing Company will host a beer tasting fundraiser to benefit the Red Cross 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The event will feature samples of St. George’s award-winning brews, live musical entertainment by acoustic act Stones Throw, as well as hand selected cigars for purchase by Pop’s Tobacco.
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series gears up at Langley Speedway - Hampton, VA
It’s never too early to get a great party started! With that in mind, Langley Speedway is partnering with the City of Hampton to help kick off the city’s three-year quadricentennial celebration, which will culminate in 2010. The centerpiece of the city’s participation this season at the historic, .395-mile speed-plant will be “Hampton Heat,” a 200-lap event for the track’s headlining Crossroads Fuel Service Late Model Stock Cars.

In the newest issue of AARP The Magazine, Hampton’s Grandview Nature Preserve is listed as one of the best beaches to fly a kite. The article, entitled “Gust Rewards” states that “Breezy winds off of the Chesapeake (Bay) supply fliers with the perfect lift, with few up and down drafts.” Beaches mentioned in the travel feature include Wrightsville Beach (North Carolina), Huntington Beach (California), Long Beach (Washington), and Clearwater Beach (Florida), among others.

St. George Brewing Company’s Golden Ale Named Grand Champion at the 13th Annual United States Beer Tasting Championship® Summer Competition
St. George Brewing Company was recently awarded the title of “Grand Champion” for its Golden Ale at the 13th annual United States Beer Tasting Championship® (USBTC) Summer Competition. Birthed in 1999, St. George is Hampton’s only micro-brewery. The small three-man operation (in theory…but many hands help bottle the brews) distributes over ten specialty beers from Delaware to South Carolina.
