In the newest issue of AARP The Magazine, Hampton’s Grandview Nature Preserve is listed as one of the best beaches to fly a kite. The article, entitled “Gust Rewards” states that “Breezy winds off of the Chesapeake (Bay) supply fliers with the perfect lift, with few up and down drafts.” Beaches mentioned in the travel feature include Wrightsville Beach (North Carolina), Huntington Beach (California), Long Beach (Washington), and Clearwater Beach (Florida), among others.
Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade Sails Into Town December 1, 2007
Experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season as the 19th annual Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade returns to Southeastern Virginia on December 1, 2007. Over 30 boats are expected to participate in this FREE nautical light show. Boaters interested in participating should contact the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership.

Hampton Holly Days Parade "It's A Wonderful Life"
The Peninsula’s largest illuminated parade will be Saturday, December 8th in Downtown Hampton. The parade starts at 7PM and is broadcast live on WVEC-TV Channel 13. The parade route starts at the intersection of Eaton Street and Settlers Landing Road and continues on to it’s destination of Darling Stadium
Hampton Yacht Club Hosts Offshore Sailing Symposium September 15-16, 2007
This September 15-16, 2007, mariners from across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States will gather at the Hampton Yacht Club for the final 2007 Offshore Sailing Symposium.
